When Esselle SF announced they were going to throw a pop-up shop this past weekend, I knew it was the final push that I needed to visit the famous San Francisco Flower Mart. I've always wanted to go, but the far away address and the perfect local flower shop in my neighborhood always got the best of me. After a sleepy Valentine's Day morning, John and I ventured to the flower mart for a romantic stop where he quickly decided to select gorgeous deep red roses for me to be arranged by floral and event designer Nancy Lui Chin. I first teamed up with Esselle SF over the summer to feature a few of the chic, feminine houseware items that make the company so unique. I had yet to meet the ladies behind the company in real life, so the pop-up shop was the perfect opportunity to do so! The shop was so adorable and it was exciting to see all the beautiful pieces come to life (along with sprinkle cookies and mini-cupcakes!) Being at the flower mart was definitely a neat experience because it is the source of many flowers sold at San Francisco floral shops. At the mart you can shop over fifty vendors selling greens, foliage, blooming plants, floral supplies and of course, cut flowers. Next time you want some fresh blooms, skip the supermarket flowers and visit the flower mart while you're in the city to create and design your own arrangements for your home, friends, family or all three. Needless to say, the fourteen long stem traditional roses John picked out for me are still standing tall and are as fragrant as ever! As we finished up browsing the aisles at the flower mart, we took home Esselle's new perfectly designed table set for two to accompany us on our sun filled Valentine's Day date in the heart of Golden Gate Park. What are your favorite spots in San Francisco? Have you ever designed a floral arrangement? Are you looking to learn more about events going on in the Bay Area? So excited too...I literally can't believe how cold it is on the East Coast right now! Can't wait to reconnect in a few weeks :)
