As the seasons change and the crisp autumn creeps into, everything else adjusts with it. From evening activities ending earlier as the sun touches down to wardrobe adjustments, we also have the opportunity to embrace new opportunities and cook with the produce that is most in season. Figs and kiwis replace summer's juicy strawberries and it will be some time before we get to slice open that perfect watermelon. The changing of season's often times encourages us to stay warm and cozy up in our homes and make a prepared meal to enjoy with good company. I am so fortunate to live in a city that celebrates culinary originality, where no restaurant is the same and the chefs are true masters of their skill.
When this change happens and willingness to learn how to cook new meals emerge, I seek inspiration from events, chefs and recipes (even though some may appear intimidating!) Next Saturday, I will be attending an amazing event with Macy's Culinary Council Chef Cat Cora to learn all about her journey as the first female on Iron Chef and her experience co-hosting Around the World in 80 plates. Directly after, there will be an opportunity to get your hands on her newest book, Cooking As Fast As I can. Do you happen to be in the Bay Area and are you interested in attending this free event? Read below for the details!
