The Santa Barbara storm had cleared, the sun began slowly peaking out of the clouds and my curiously was certainly there. The Mission Santa Barbara is set on the most pristine grassy space surrounded by rose gardens, beautiful homes and desert succulent plants. Although I have spent many days in the sunshine on the large hill in front of the Mission, I had never been beyond the doors until this last trip. The historic building was built in 1789 by Padre Fermin Lasuen in attempt to convert the Indigenous local Chumash tribe of this area. The church within the Mission is spectacular, painted with vibrant colors and vigil candles throughout, while in the back you can discover the Mission's cemetery. While visiting Mission Santa Barbara, be sure to enjoy a beautiful self-guided tour!
