Happy Fall! Summer is officially over, but autumn always been a favorite of mine, especially in the golden state. Today I am sharing with you one of my favorite San Francisco day trip along the coast. Heading south on highway one from the city, once you pass Pacifica and drive through the tunnel pull over to the left to hike the trails of McNee Ranch on a crisp fall day and you'll see how the highway wraps around the mountains along the cliffs of the ocean. The trails are sprinkled with wildflowers and you can't help but stop and soak in the scenery and realize just how beautiful the northern California coastline really is.
After you have spent time wandering the green hills of the ranch, head down to Montara Beach, just a few miles south on Highway One to a stunning beach surrounded with sandstone walls you must see for yourself. The vibrant yellows and reds bring color to an often foggy area as the waves ride up on the hidden, soft sands. After you spent some time breathing fresh, salty air, walk up to La Costanera restaurant for delicious Peruvian food with a California view while sipping on sangria as the orange sun dips low into the sapphire waters. With bright seaside plants and vibrant pink ocean flowers, this is a perfect day trip to get away from the city life and enjoy the secluded sands to embrace a perfect fall day.
