A winter trip to Colorado include is just the perfect time to visit this outdoors state that offers hikes, creeks, mountains all within a short distance of your location. With several stops in several cities, I started out my weekend in Denver. The city was covered in snow flakes during the Christmas season and string lights provided a nice glow to the city trees. After a few days in the city, we headed to Red Rocks Amphitheater to examine and witness these beautiful red sandstone within the mountains. Just 10 miles west of Denver, once you climb to the top, expect to see the city skyline off in the distance. The amphitheater nestled in these mountains is a popular venue for all types of music, bringing in close to 9,000 people during a sold out show. When we visited, there was no bands playing, but I can only image how awesome a concert is here!
