During the month of November, we think and talk about tradition. What it means, how it came to be and how new traditions are formed. Giving thanks, following family recipes and being surrounded by good cheer and family is the core of the Thanksgiving holiday. Although hectic, this special time of the season allows you to catch up with life even though it seems to be the most fast paced time of the year. The time when you must prepare for the new year and new resolutions, it can be a lot of pressure. During this time, I love to incorporate new recipes while keeping the old ones alive and well. I came across A Kitchen Box, a company curated by two women and their love for cooking and creating based out of Oregon. This company offers a great variety of hand selected, themed boxes (including a subscription plan) that will keep your cooking creative with inspired recipes and all tools to boost your confidence in the kitchen. They even include a pre-stamped card to send to a loved one in each kitchen box...talk about snail mail inspiration! I happened to snag the last Thankful Box, but don't worry...they have over 12 other great boxes to choose from! Beside their perfectly designed website, they also offer an active blog with seasonal recipes to keep your taste buds satisfied. Here is what popped up on my doorstep in their perfectly balanced, artfully created Thankful Box (minus the pumpkins and candles) ... Quite possibly the best syrup I've ever had was the slightly spiked, Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup. Flying Bird Botanical's Harvest Moon Red Chai is absolutely perfect for the season, and I can't help but love their logo! Included in the Thankful Box was an easy to make Apple Crumble that happened to be just delicious! While I began to slice the apples and mix the ingredients for the top layer of the crumble, I couldn't help but light some cinnamon scented candles and embrace everything fall along with some tunes playing in the kitchen. I absolutely love the craft and simplicity of Moleskin notebooks and the Thankful Box included two mini ruled journals. These are the perfect size to throw in your purse or to bring along on travels. I know one of them is coming along with me on my trip to Mexico this upcoming weekend! After I sliced the apples and layered them with a sweet crumble, I popped it in the oven and went on the enjoy the red chai tea while the kitchen air began to fill with scents of cinnamon and maple. The results were amazing with a crispy, golden crumble! What are you giving thanks for this season? What are your favorite traditions or recipes during Thanksgiving? Let's keep this going! Share any thoughts or questions below in the comment section, chat on Twitter, follow my adventures throughout San Francisco and beyond on Instagram and stay connected through Facebook. This post was made possible in partnership with A Kitchen Box. As always, all opinions are my own.

This is such a cool idea!! Love these photos and the sound of these boxes -- I want literally everything in this Thankful box -- what a bummer they're sold out! I'll check the rest out though -- hopefully I can find another one offering both syrup and moleskins ^_^
