There's something about over saturated signs, sun kissed skin and the smell of cotton candy lingering in the air that just screams summer. When a work opportunity spontaneously presented itself to photograph an event at the Petaluma-Sonoma Fair last Friday, I was eager to take the assignment and explore the fairgrounds in the warm sun at the same time. On past road trips north to Sonoma County, Petaluma has always been a town I've driven through, but never stopped. As I made my way into the fairgrounds, I realized how much it reminded me of times spent at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk growing up (only substitute golden hills for the Pacific ocean). On my way to the event, I made a detour to the open aired and upscale shopping village in Corte Madera. I had to check out the summer Anthropologie sale and I would be lying if I said I didn't walk out of the store with some major steals (if you're an anthro fan, you won't want to miss this sale!) After I got home, I immediately browsed their online store and found so many inspirational pieces that would be perfectly comfortable and appropriate for not only summer, but for a day at the fair. Here are my top picks (and a stick of cotton candy would be the perfect accessory!) Are you a fan of Anthropologie? Does anything in particular bring up special memories during the season? I'd be thrilled to hear your special stories that scream summer. Eager for more California destinations? Let's connect on Instagram + Twitter! Related Posts
